About the Promoter
Well-known Government Organisation that has established itself as maritime leader in port development, privatisation and specialised cargo handling in India.
Objective
This organisation through its Education Trust was on a mission to establish an apex institute for maritime research education and training in the country. The objective of the university establishment was to focus on commercial aspects of maritime education, high manpower demand supply gap, and high importance of the maritime sector to the growth of the country’s economy. Core focus of this university was Maritime Education, Research & Development and Professional Training.
Challenges
- Feasibility and Academic Programmes: We took up the challenge to determine feasibility of the university and right mix of academic programmes
- Find Partners: In order to create a Global Appeal, the university needed Right Partnerships & Collaborations with Universities in the same domain.
Solutions
1. Detailed Feasibility Report
Eduprogress worked as a Consultant to prepare Detailed Feasibility Report (DFR) for setting up this Maritime University. The DFR provided inputs on the demand-supply gap Assessment of the sector.
2. Academic & Financial Plans
We assisted the University Stakeholders in developing Academic and Financial Plans to achieve a strong and robust foundation of the university.
3. International Collaborations
To strengthen its grasp in the maritime sector, the university entered into partnership with several reputable institutions in the sector. We facilitated this University for international collaboration with educational institutions in Korea, UK and Netherlands.
Result
The university was successfully established from a transitory campus starting with post graduate programmes in law & management.
