HOW WE DEVELOPED INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION FOR A PLASTICS UNIVERSITY
About the Promoter
The Concerned University is promoted by a famous Mumbai Foundation- an apex body of major associations, organizations, and institutions connected with plastics. It was established in 1987 and supported by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, with a common objective to promote the development of plastics and related materials.
Objective
“An initiative by the Industry for the Industry”
As an apex body of the Plastics industry, this foundation is dedicated to national progress through plastics. Given that the national demand for technical experts, managers, and skilled workforce for the growth of the Plastics Industry in India remains a challenge, the foundation came up with an initiative to set up a university with a vision of developing a world-class education institute dedicated to Plastics Technology with thrust on research, innovation, and entrepreneurial skill development.
Challenge
Global Partnerships:
Building global partnerships requires substantial time and thorough research to identify an institution aligning with shared values and visions to achieve a common goal. The process involves forging connections with the right organization by carefully considering and aligning objectives.
Solutions
- Eduprogress offerred education and research consulting to the University, prioritizing International Collaboration. The University has partnered with a leading plastic engineering institute in the USA to bring in foreign faculty and enhance its standards, aiming to become a world-class institution in plastic engineering through focused improvements in curriculum, laboratories, research facilities, and faculty training.
- The common problem faced by an Institute or University for international collaboration is to reach the realization phase. We helped this University to actualize the partnership from agreement to implementation through intensive coordination and follow up with both sides.
- We initially crafted a brief for the client, pinpointing the key aspects of International Collaboration and its necessity. Subsequently, we formulated short-term and long-term International Collaborative models after identifying the specific areas requiring collaboration, prioritizing the project’s relevance and sustainability to achieve the university’s objective of becoming a World-Class institution in Plastics.
Results
This International University has continued the partnership with the pioneer plastics engineering institute in USA for setting up India’s premier university dedicated to plastic.
This international collaboration model will help this University offer a professional program in areas of Plastics Part Design for Injection Molding, Extrusion, Injection Mould design, Blow Molding, Materials selection, Failure analysis, and Cost estimation.
